April is almost here, and that means we have another great month of BritBox premieres to look forward to – including a new season of the Death in Paradise spin-off Beyond Paradise.
Don't have a BritBox subscription? You can sign up HERE on their website or HERE on Amazon Video. Both options offer the same content, but some people find one or the other offers better compatibility with their devices or internet service provider.
Sometimes, there's a brief delay for new shows to arrive on the Prime version of the channel – so if you're the kind of person who's at home a lot and really wants to see every show immediately, we recommend going direct (even if it means buying a Roku or similar device to get it on your TV).

New British TV Shows on BritBox (US) in April 2024
April 1st BritBox Premieres
QI, Season U
This quirky quiz show deals primarily in obscure trivia, meaning the correct answer is almost never given. In lieu of a correct answer, contestants earn points for offering interesting but incorrect answers – so long as they don't make guesses which are both wrong AND obvious. No one really understands the point system, though.
Each season is oriented around a single letter, and the new season will feature episodes with U themes.

Poirot fans will be pleased to spot Sir David Suchet in the role of Sir Nigel Fountain.

At Home with the Braithwaites (2000 to 2003)
When Alison Braithwaite wins 38 million pounds in the lottery, she doesn't quite get round to telling her family. Instead, she sets up a secretive charity with the goal of helping others. Eventually, however, they find out – and that's when things get really complicated.
The series has an all-star cast that includes Amanda Redman (Good Karma Hospital), Peter Davison (All Creatures Great & Small), and Julie Graham (Queens of Mystery), and it's perfect for anyone who enjoyed the various seasons of The Syndicate.

Lovejoy, Seasons 1 & 2 (1986 to 1994)
Lovejoy (Ian McShane, American Gods) is a divvy – a person with an abnormal level of skill when it comes to recognising valuable or antique items. Despite his natural talents, he struggles to maintain an honest and profitable business, and he always seems to be pulling one over on someone or trying to get out of trouble. He's accompanied in his adventures by his assistant, Eric Catchpole (Chris Jury), his good friend Tinker (Dudley Sutton), and Lady Jane Felsham (Phyllis Logan, Downton Abbey).
- Season 1 premieres April 22nd
- Season 2 premieres April 22nd (this was listed later in the schedule, so there's a chance it could be a typo that was meant to list a later date, like the 27th or 28th – but we're just going with what they said until we hear otherwise)
April 24th BritBox Premieres
Sister Boniface Mysteries, Season 3
Lorna Watson returns for another season of this delightfully quirky Cotswolds-based mystery. Guest stars this season include Rupert Vansittart (Game of Thrones, Gentleman Jack), Siobhan Redmond (Queens of Mystery, Two Doors Down) and Timothy West (Last Tango in Halifax, Gentleman Jack).
The new season begins with a Christmas special that sees Britain experiencing its worst winter on record, with Sister Boniface stranded in a train when a jewel theft and murder occur on board. Other episodes include the murder of an organist, a sci-fi convention with a mysterious disappearance, and a dead actor at a screen test. Meanwhile, Felix is dealing with a bit of personal turmoil.
April 26th BritBox Premieres
Screw, Season 2
This prison drama returns for another tense season, beginning with the discovery that an undercover officer has been placed on the wing. Big questions remain. Who is the officer? And perhaps more importantly – why are they there?
