If you're a fan of suspenseful British TV, you're going to love BritBox's September lineup. We can look forward to new seasons of several intense and gritty crime shows, including season 2 of The Responder. Keep reading for the full schedule with descriptions.

New Shows Coming to BritBox (US) in September 2024

September 2nd

Man Down comes to BritBox September 2nd

Man Down, Season 1

This man-child comedy was written and created by Greg Davies (The Inbetweeners), and it follows Dan, an unfortunate middle-aged man with a teaching job he hates, a number of serious character flaws, and a dysfunctional set of family and friends. He's constantly headed for disaster, but he makes amusing efforts at self-improvement and goal fulfillment. 7 episode binge premiere.

Additional seasons will premiere on the following dates:

  • Season 2: September 9th, 7 episode binge
  • Season 3: September 16th, 6 episode binge
  • Season 4: September 23rd, 6 episode binge

Des (2020)

This three-part true crime series tells the story of the 1983 arrest of Scottish serial killer Dennis Nilsen. When human remains began blocking a drain near his home, his horrific hidden secrets came to light – ultimately leading to life imprisonment on six counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder. For his performance as Nilsen, David Tennant received the International Emmy Award for Best Actor.

Trigger Point returns on September 5th

Trigger Point, Season 2 (US Only Premiere)

Vicky McClure (Line of Duty) returns as Lana Washington, a bomb disposal expert working with MI5 and Counter Terrorism units to uncover a terrorist cell bound by a belief in anti-state conspiracy theories. Pushed to her limits as she goes undercover, she hopes to unmask the figurehead before there's a major catastrophe. Two episodes air weekly, total of six.

Charles III: The Coronation Year

After watching his mother rule the UK for longer than any other British monarch, King Charles had to lead the public in mourning while stepping up to the job he'd spent more than 70 years preparing to take on. This feature-length documentary takes a look back at his first year on the throne.

September 10th

Forensics: The Real CSI premieres September 10th

Forensics: The Real CSI, Season 1

This fascinating docuseries follows serious crime investigations in real time, watching as professionals use cutting-edge science to help bring criminals to justice. We'll see a forensics team identify an unknown gunman based solely on the evidence from a shooting, and we'll watch as they untangle the cause of death when a body is found in suspicious circumstances. Though not for the faint of heart, it should be excellent viewing for all the future crime novelists out there. Three episode binge premiere.

September 18th

The Bay returns September 18th

The Bay, Season 5

Marsha Thomason (White Collar) returns as DS Jenn Townsend in the fifth season of this Morecambe Bay-based crime drama. This time, a 23-year-old university student has been found dead on the edge of the docks, and the case forces Jenn to push aside her own grief to help support the young woman's family. As the case goes on, anger rises in the student community, with everyone wanting answers before anyone else gets hurt.

September 26th

The Tower returns September 26th

The Tower, Season 3

Picking up two years after the previous season, Sarah (Gemma Whelan, Gentleman Jack) is called to investigate the stabbing of a young boy. Unfortunately, the case brings her into conflict with Kieran (Emmett Scanlan, Peaky Blinders), who's running an undercover operation to target a major drug kingpin. The only identifiable witness to the stabbing is a 15-year-old who's part of the kingpin's inner circle.
