BritBox and Acorn TV may be the best-known services geared towards bringing British TV shows to US viewers, but there are more than a dozen streaming services that offer new releases from the UK on a somewhat regular basis. To help you keep track, we put together a list each month to look at those shows which:

  • Began airing in the UK within the last year or so
  • Are streaming for the first time (in the US) in August 2024

Though it's a bit of a slow month again (as summer months often are), there's still a lot to look forward to – including the return of Mallorca Files and Granite Harbour

Kaos

Kaos

Kaos is an ensemble-cast fantasy comedy-drama series featuring Jeff Goldblum as Zeus, the neurotic King of the Gods, whose paranoia spirals after discovering a wrinkle on his forehead. Convinced of his impending downfall, he embarks on a dangerous path that threatens the divine hierarchy. His brother Hades (David Thewlis), the God of the Underworld, is losing control over the restless dead, while Hera (Janet McTeer), Queen of the Gods, must navigate Zeus's growing instability to protect her own power. Meanwhile, Zeus's rebellious son, Dionysus (Nabhaan Rizwan), is headed for a cosmic clash with his father. On Earth, people are desperate for change, but Poseidon (Cliff Curtis), the God of the Sea, is more focused on his lavish lifestyle than the plight of mortals—some of whom are starting to push back against the gods.

Mortals Riddy (Aurora Perrineau, Westworld), Orpheus (Killian Scott, C.B. Strike), Caneus (Misia Butler, The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself), and Ari (Leila Farzad, I Hate Suzie) may be very different, but they're all connected when it comes to the battle against Zeus.
