14 Brand New British TV Shows Coming to the US in June 2025

BritBox, PBS Masterpiece, and Acorn TV are responsible for the majority of the new British TV shows streaming in the US each month – but there are another 5-10 services that frequently offer new British TV premieres, and if British TV isn't your full-time job, it can be hard to figure out where they're all airing. To help, we put this list together each month to make it easy to locate shows which:
- Premiered in the UK or Ireland within the last year or two
- Are expected to premiere in the US in June 2025
Relative Secrets (2025)
What happens when ordinary families discover extraordinary secrets? Award-winning actress Jane Seymour joins archaeologist Natasha Billson to investigate dark family histories – from buried scandals to shocking criminal legacies.
Episodes will air on Acorn TV as follows:
- June 2nd: Episodes 1, “A Serial Killer's Kin” – The daughter of a serial killer desperately hopes her family's lineage offers redemption from her father's horrifying crimes. But when Jane and Natasha search for an ancestor, they discover a secret far worse than they could ever imagine.
- June 9th: Episode 2, “A Century of Guilt” – A 99-year-old World War II veteran believes his neglect led to his grandmother's disappearance–or worse, her murder. Hoping to allay his fears, Jane and Natasha dig into the past.
- June 16th: Episode 3, “An Outlaw By Any Name” – A Texas family confronts their scandalous past while seeking the truth about their father, rumored to have been born to a brothel worker. As Jane and Natasha investigate his paternity, they discover the truth might be far closer than it seems.
- June 23rd: Episode 4, “The Mother Who Vanished” (FINALE) – Seventy years ago, a Philadelphia mother vanished, leaving three young children behind. With Jane and Natasha's help, they go in search of answers: Did their mother fake her death, or has she been living under a false identity all along?
Mr. Loverman, Season 1 (2024)
Barrington Jedidiah Walker, Esq. – or Barry (Lennie James) to his mates – is a sharp-dressed, larger-than-life 70-year-old from Hackney with a secret. His wife Carmel (Sharon D. Clarke) suspects he's been unfaithful with women, but the truth is far more complicated: Barry has spent decades in a hidden relationship with his best friend, Morris (Ariyon Bakare). As he enters a new stage of life, Barry faces choices that could upend everything – and force his family to confront truths of their own.
Premieres June 4th on BritBox, with 2 episodes airing each week for a total of 8.
Ocean with David Attenborough
Sir David Attenborough invites viewers beneath the waves to explore the planet’s most remarkable ocean habitats. Drawing on decades of observation and experience, he reveals how this era has become a turning point in ocean discovery. Alongside breathtaking footage, the documentary confronts the urgent threats facing marine life – but also offers a hopeful vision: with the right action, the oceans still have a chance to heal on an extraordinary scale.
Premieres June 8th on Disney+ and Hulu.
Art Detectives (2025)
DI Mick Palmer (Stephen Moyer, True Blood) and DC Shazia Malik (Nina Singh, Virdee) work together for the Met's smallest department, Heritage Crime. When cases related to arts, culture, and antiquities arise, they're sent in to investigate – whether it's a dead art historian or a stolen Viking hoard, they use their specialised knowledge to get at the truth.
Episodes will premiere on Acorn TV as follows:
- June 9th:
- Episode 1, “Pictures At An Exhibition” – When an art historian is found murdered in his home, DI Mick Palmer and DC Shazia Malik are sent to investigate. As they dig into the case, they uncover a vandalized painting, sabotaged security footage, and a dark family secret.
- Episode 2, “Dead & Buried” – The detectives look into the discovery of a gold Viking hoard stolen from a prehistoric burial chamber. After the site is reopened, they unearth a series of secrets and betrayals leading to a thousand-year-old cover-up.
- June 16th:
- Episode 3, “Warped” – A music producer is battered to death in his studio and his rare rock memorabilia stolen. But when the victim's collection is later found dumped in the river, Mick and Shazia question the killer's motive.
- June 23rd:
- Episode 4, “Noble Rot” – At an exclusive wine tasting, host Raymond Bettane dies from a spiked drink. As the detectives question each of the guests, Mick makes a shocking discovery about Bettane’s vintage wines.
- June 30th:
- Episode 5, “Ice Cold” – An American millionaire who planned to donate his collection of Titanic memorabilia is found dead in his hotel room in Belfast. Discovering that the man was poisoned, Mick and Shazia suspect someone wanted to stop the donation.
Richard Osman's House of Games (2017 to present)
Thursday Murder Club author and quiz expert Richard Osman presents this game show in which four celebrities compete in a test of knowledge. Richard then puts the pressure on as he cross-examines the contestants, challenging them to boost their scores and keep up with his sharp mind. Each episode wraps up with a fast-paced final round to determine the day's top player – leading to one overall champion by week's end.
Premieres June 10th on BritBox.
Deep Cover (2025 film)
This action-comedy stars Bryce Dallas Howard as Kat, an improv teacher wondering if she’s missed her big break – until an undercover cop (Sean Bean) offers her a strange new gig. With help from two eager students (Orlando Bloom and Nick Mohammed), she dives into London’s criminal underworld, posing as a feared gang to bring down the real thing.
The cast also includes Paddy Considine, Sonoya Mizuno, and Ian McShane.
Premieres June 12th on Amazon Prime Video.
Grantchester, Season 10
The new season of sees DI Geordie Keating (Robson Green) and Reverend Alphy Kottaram (Rishi Nair) back on the case, solving murders against the idyllic backdrop of 1960s Cambridgeshire. As they face everything from university rivalries to eerie orphanage mysteries, each case tests not only their detective instincts but their friendship and personal lives.
Premieres June 15th on PBS and PBS Masterpiece, with new episodes airing weekly through August 3rd.
Patience (2025)
In the heart of historic York, Patience Evans (Ella Maisy Purvis) quietly excels as a police archivist—until her sharp eye for detail catches the attention of DI Bea Metcalf (Laura Fraser). A self-taught criminologist and neurodivergent thinker, Patience sees patterns where others see noise. When Bea brings her into active investigations, it opens the door to a new life – one filled with high-stakes cases, personal revelations, and an unexpected partnership that changes them both.
The six-part series features a cast that includes Nathan Welsh, Mark Benton, Ali Ariaie, Tom Lewis, Liza Sadovy, Adrian Rawlins, and Jamie Maclachlan. All neurodivergent roles are played by neurodiverse actors.
Premieres June 15th on PBS and PBS Masterpiece.
Outrageous, Season 1
Set in 1930s England, this drama tells the true story of the Mitford sisters – six aristocratic siblings who captured headlines with their bold choices and clashing beliefs. From Nancy, the sharp-tongued author, to Jessica, the revolutionary, their lives took wildly different – and sometimes shocking – paths.
Bessie Carter, Joanna Vanderham, Shannon Watson, Zoe Brough, Orla Hill, and Isobel Jesper Jones star as the sisters, with Toby Regbo as their brother Tom, and Anna Chancellor and James Purefoy as their formidable parents.
Premieres June 18th on BritBox, with two episodes initially and weekly episodes afterwards.
The Buccaneers, Season 2
The Americans have taken over – and not just the headlines. In Season 2 of this lavish drama inspired by Edith Wharton’s unfinished novel, the rebellious young women who once shocked 1870s London are now shaping it. Nan (Kristine Frøseth) rules as Duchess of Tintagel, Conchita (Alisha Boe) is a social force in her own right, and Jinny (Imogen Waterhouse) is caught in a very public storm. But power comes at a price, and the Buccaneers must face the consequences of adulthood: desire, betrayal, motherhood, and loss.
The ensemble also includes returning cast members Aubri Ibrag, Josie Totah, Christina Hendricks, and Mia Threapleton, alongside new arrivals Leighton Meester, Greg Wise, Jacob Ifan, Grace Ambrose, and Maria Almeida.
Premieres June 18th on Apple TV+, with new episodes airing weekly through August 6th.
Grenfell: Uncovered (2025)
Grenfell: Uncovered gives voice to those most impacted by the 2017 Grenfell Tower fire – survivors, grieving families, and the firefighters who responded. Through their accounts, the documentary exposes the failures and decisions by corporations and government officials that set the stage for one of the UK’s most devastating modern tragedies. With a focus on what went wrong long before the fire broke out, the film confronts how a preventable disaster claimed 72 lives.
Premieres June 20th on Netflix.
Inside, Season 1 (In English & Welsh)
Drawn from real-life accounts of prisoners and guards, this six-part series follows four central characters on both sides of the law, revealing how their choices shape their lives and the lives of those around them. Cast members include Gwion Tegid (The Museum), Rolant Prys (Beryl, Cheryl & Meryl), Glyn Pritchard (Keeping Faith), Mali Tudno Jones (Hidden), Dion Lloyd (The Light in the Hall), and Hywel Morgan (Slow Horses).
Premieres June 23rd on Acorn TV.
Good Ship Murder, Season 2
As Kate (Catherine Tyldesley) focuses on preparing for her Staff Captain interview, Jack (Shayne Ward) invites her to a special night at the opera in Rome – an ideal moment to take their relationship to the next level. Unfortunately, their romantic plans hit rough seas when Jack’s 18-year-old daughter Mia (Millie Kent) makes an unexpected appearance, leaving him caught between old ties and new beginnings.
Premieres June 26th, with new episodes airing weekly (total of 8) on BritBox.
Nautilus (2024)
This bold reimagining of Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas charts the early rise of Captain Nemo (Shazad Latif), once a royal heir, now a brilliant fugitive driven by vengeance. Stripped of his title and imprisoned by the East India Mercantile Company, Nemo escapes aboard a stolen submarine with a band of unlikely allies.
Their mission: recover a legendary Viking treasure and stay ahead of the ruthless empire determined to destroy him.
The ten-part series features Georgia Flood, Céline Menville, and Thierry Fremont, with guest roles from Richard E. Grant, Anna Torv, and Noah Taylor.
Premieres June 29th on AMC+, with new episodes arriving weekly until the 2-episode finale on August 17th.
