We've made it through the first half of 2024 – and it's time to take a look at Acorn TV's July schedule of premieres. The big news this month is a new season of Signora Volpe – but that's not all they have in store.

Murdoch Mysteries, Season 17
This long-running Canadian period mystery follows William Murdoch, a Victorian-era detective who uses rapidly evolving forensic techniques to solve crimes in new ways. Watch the new season HERE.

My Life is Murder, Season 4
Lucy Lawless returns as Alexa Crowe, a charismatic and fearless former detective who is lured back into the world of investigation by a former colleague.

- Episode 4, “One Man's Poison” – Alexa investigates ‘death by stir-fry’ when Reuben pleads with her to clear the name of his friend, a private chef accused of poisoning one of his clients. Guest stars Joel Tobeck (One Lane Bridge).
- July 8th
- Episode 5, “En Pointe” – A ballerina has been shot dead with a bow and arrow at a prestigious ballet academy. While Madison tries her hand at archery, Alexa poses as a dance mom to uncover the terrible truth behind the tulle.
- July 15th
- Episode 6, “The Good Oil” – Alexa ignores her own family problems while she pursues justice for grieving Samoan matriarch Eme, whose son Ropati was shot dead in a botched robbery at his coconut oil factory.

- FINALE – Episode 7, “The Widow's Club, Part 1” – Alexa and her brother Will (Martin Henderson,
Virgin River) infiltrate an exclusive country club, where a group of wealthy golf widows have the men running scared. Alexa is investigating the murder of Charlie, incinerated in a hyperbaric chamber in the wellness center of the exclusive country club The Southern Isle. - FINALE – Episode 8, “The Widow's Club, Part 2” – Alexa finds herself on the wrong side of a murder investigation, fighting to clear her own name while avoiding the webs of three Black Widows.

New Shows on Acorn TV in JuLY 2024
July 1st Premieres
Orphan Black: Echoes (Canada, 2024)
Set in the near future, this spin-off of Orphan Black explores the possible outcomes of scientific manipulation of human existence. It follows several women as they weave their way into each other's lives and attempt to unravel the mystery of their identities, uncovering a tragic story of love and betrayal. Krysten Ritter (Breaking Bad) plays Lucy, a woman with an unimaginable origin story, trying to find her place in the world. The series also stars Keeley Hawes (Bodyguard), Amanda Fix (North of Normal), Avan Jogia (Now Apocalypse), Rya Kihlstedt (A Teacher) and James Hiroyuki Liao (The Dropout).

The Little Drummer Girl (2018)
Based on John le Carre's 1983 novel of the same name, this limited series follows a British actress who's recruited by Mossad to infiltrate a group of Palestinian terrorists before they carry out an attack in Europe. Florence Pugh (Oppenheimer) stars as the actress, Charlie. Michael Shannon (Take Shelter) and Alexander Skarsgård (True Blood) also appear.
The Restaurant (Sweden, 2017 to 2020)
This Swedish period drama begins just as World War II is ending, and it follows the Löwander family as they run one of Stockholm's most popular restaurants. In the midst of the post-war celebrations, two strangers kiss, not knowing their actions will have far-reaching consequences. Nina Löwander is one of those strangers, and the other is working class kitchen boy Calle.
The series follows the ups and downs of all those involved in the restaurant, and seasons will premiere as follows:
- Season 1 – July 1st
- Season 2 – July 15th
- Season 3 – July 29th
Though not stated in the announcement, it seems likely that the fourth (and final) season will arrive in August. Can't wait? You can also find this one on AMC+ and Sundance Now.
July 8th Premieres
There are no new shows premiering on July 8th – just new episodes of My Life is Murder and Murdoch Mysteries.

July 22nd Premieres
Candice Renoir, Season 9 (France)
If you're not caught up through season 8, you may want to skip the description of what's ahead in season 9.
This fun French crime drama returns, and we find Candice disciplined for hiding Antoine's amnesia. She's not allowed to take part in any investigations and is told to either end her relationship with her superior or be transferred to the other end of France. She's reduced to performing administrative tasks, sidelined in a tiny ground floor office.
Now, her unit is headed up by a woman called Penelope Vallier – and Candice doesn't like it one bit. As she bides her time and plots a comeback, she's careful to keep a safe distance from Antoine and his manly allure.

July 29th Premieres
Signora Volpe, Season 2
Former British spy Sylvia Fox (Emilia Fox, Silent Witness) has discovered a new way of life in Italy, but murder is never far off. As she renovates her lovely countryside home, works on relations with her family, and gets to know the handsome Capitano Riva (Giovanni Cirfiera, The Assassination of Gianni Versace), she uses her well-honed spy skills to get to the bottom of all sorts of nasty business.
Episodes will air weekly, with a total of three feature-length episodes in season 2
- July 29th, Episode 1 – When a pillar of the local community is found dead at the charity he runs, Antonella’s friend Vittoria is arrested on suspicion of his murder. Antonella asks Sylvia to help prove Vittoria’s innocence – and sends Sylvia off on a trail of blackmail, family secrets, and illicit love. Though Vittoria is cleared of the murder and another criminal is brought to justice, Antonella is disappointed by Sylvia’s failure to unmask the real killer. But Sylvia has uncovered the truth, and for honorable reasons, decides to keep it hidden.
