March will be here before you know it, and that means a new set of British (and other) TV shows over on Acorn TV. It's a 31-day month with 5 Mondays (the day Acorn TV does most of their drops), so the list is particularly long this time.

Murdoch Mysteries continues in March

Murdoch Mysteries, Season 18

At the turn of the century, Detective William Murdoch (Yannick Bisson, Baking All the Way, Casino Jack) solves gruesome murders in Toronto using innovative techniques like fingerprinting, ultraviolet lighting, and trace evidence. This season, he turns down a promotion to Inspector to stay in the field, tackling complex crimes. In the new season, the stationhouse welcomes Albert Choi (Paul Sun-Hyung, The Mandalorian, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Kim’s Convenience), a respected and good-humored addition to the team.

Episodes will air as follows in March, with 22 in total by the end of the season:

  • March 3rd: Episode 4, “Gimme Shelter” – Murdoch and Watts investigate a young woman’s death from an overdose of stolen cocaine.
  • March 10th: Episode 5, “A Starlet is Born” – Murdoch suspects a starlet’s fan is responsible when a hotel bell man is killed in a car explosion.
  • March 17th: Episode 6, “The Murdoch Link” – When a rare prehistoric skull is stolen and a buyer ends up dead, Murdoch looks into the case.
  • March 24th: Episode 7, “The Measure of My Dreams” – On Christmas Eve, Murdoch and Choi must track down Shane, a squabbling drunk who is being targeted.
  • March 31st: Episode 8, “Welcome to Paradise” – Murdoch fears that a serial killer is on the loose after bodies are found in a field.

A Remarkable Place to Die (2024, New Zealand)

Detective Anais Mallory (Chelsie Preston Crayford, M3GAN, Underbelly) is back in Queenstown, New Zealand, but the homecoming is anything but peaceful. Faced with a string of unsettling murders, she must navigate the town’s secrets while reckoning with the past she thought she’d left behind. Also starring Rebecca Gibney (Under the Vines, The Dressmaker) and Matt Whelan (The Sounds, Under the Vines, The Gone).

New episodes air weekly on Mondays as follows:

  • March 3rd, Episode 3: Anaís investigates a double homicide at a remote campsite with a shocking connection to her past.

Recipes for Love & Murder, Season 2

A food-loving advice columnist turns amateur sleuth when a reader seeking help is murdered, leading her to investigate while sharing her favorite recipes. In season 2, a fire engulfs the town of Eden, triggering a chain of events that drag our characters into multiple murder investigations.

Episodes will premiere on Mondays as follows:

  • March 3rd, 
    • Episode 1: “Once Upon a Time” – As Hattie plans to announce her mayoral campaign through a movie drive-in charity event, a series of fires breaks out in the town. McClintock enlists the help of the local police in investigating Maria and proving she was behind the killing of Mickey.
    • Episode 2: “A Little Guilt Goes a Long Way” – When Frank's body is taken to the mortuary for examination, the autopsy report reveals a shocking truth. Searching for answers, Maria meets with the local mechanic Ricus but finds herself drawn into his support group.
  • March 10th
    • Episode 3: “The Heart Wants What the Heart Wants” – As the investigation into Frank’s death continues, Georgie and Maria share with each other their feelings about losing a spouse. Jessie uncovers incriminating evidence linked to the town fires, and Maria and Ricus are held up by armed robbers.
  • March 17th
    • Episode 4: “His Favourite Snoek” – Now the interim editor of the Gazette, Jessie gets a threatening letter. She and Maria discover that Georgie has been receiving religious counseling, which provides a solid alibi for Mickey's murder.
  • March 24th
    • Episode 5: “Crash, Bang, Wallop” – Now the interim editor of the Gazette, Jessie gets a threatening letter. She and Maria discover that Georgie has been receiving religious counseling, which provides a solid alibi for Mickey's murder.

    • Episode 6: “Home is Where Bearnaise Is” – As more evidence emerges of Jaco robbing various crime scenes, Regardt confronts and arrests his brother. A frustrated Maria faces severe repercussions after breaking into Marius Rabie's office.

    • Episode 2 – With the case now confirmed a murder, Fia suspects her new partner, Detective Furlong. But she soon discovers the dark secrets of the town have their roots in a more powerful source.
  • March 17th
    • Episode 3 – With the murder victim daughter, Carrie, missing, Fia is in a race against time to uncover the truth. A press conference erupts into allegations of Fia’s father’s involvement with another missing girl, 20 years before.
  • March 24th
    • Episode 4 – As the past and present begin to merge, Fia uncovers the truth behind the abuse of young women in the town. The discovery of a body in the lake points to a darker collusion and the most powerful man in the town – Bill McGuire.
  • March 31st
    • Episode 5 – With her partner Cian Furlong now firmly on her side, Fia takes the law into her own hands in order to get to the truth. A truth that will bring her closer to her own dark, tragic past.
