As we take a look at Acorn TV's September lineup, we have good news and bad news. The bad news is that most of what's coming this month is either stuff that's already premiered over on AMC+ and Sundance Now OR just older content in general (much of it previously available on Acorn TV or free services). They're great shows, but it might be a bit disappointing to people who've had Acorn TV for many years, or who already subscribe to Sundance Now or AMC+.

The good news, though, is that they ARE bringing us the 10th season of the French crime drama Candice Renoir, which brings us almost to the end of the series. Below, we take a look at everything that's coming in September.

Shows Continuing on Acorn TV in September 2024

Under the Vines continues in September

Under the Vines, Season 3

This New Zealand-based series began when two step-cousins jointly inherited a struggling vineyard. Daisy was an Australian socialite, while Louis was working as a lawyer in the UK. Despite a complete lack of winemaking experience and virtually no shared opinions, they decided to work together in hopes of getting more than just lowball offers on the property.

In season 3, we return to Oakley Wines and find Daisy (Rebecca Gibney, The Dressmaker) and Louis (Charles Edwards, The Crown) trying to legally oust the annoying William (Mark Mitchinson, Evil Dead Rise) who claims he owns half the vineyard.

Episodes will continue in September as follows (mild spoilers in episode descriptions):

  • September 2nd
    • Episode 4, “The Scenic Route” – Daisy and Louis are forced to spend the night together when their truck breaks down in the middle of nowhere. Meanwhile, Nic and Vic cope with the birth of their twins.
  • September 9th
    • Episode 5, “Life is a Driveway” – Daisy tries to bond with her future daughter-in-law, Sienna, on a trip to go wedding dress-shopping. An out-of-his-element Louis fears for his life on David’s stag-do camping trip.
  • September 16th
    • Episode 6, “To Have & to Hold” (FINALE) – Daisy finally makes it to the altar to marry the man she loves in front of the people who matter most in her life. But is she really marrying the right man?

September 16th PremierES

Candice Renoir returns September 16th

Candice Renoir, Season 10 (French)

This French crime favourite returns for the 10th (and nearly final) season. The series began in 2013 when Candice returned to France after years abroad with her ex-pat husband and kids. Newly divorced and re-entering the workforce after a long absence, she had to fight to be taken seriously – despite her obvious talent for the job. We won't offer specifics about season 10, largely because Candice and her team's personal lives are as much a part of the series as the crimes themselves, and we don't want to ruin it for those who've just started.

For those wondering about the future status of the show, they're no longer making normal seasons – but they continue to release occasional feature-length specials, which we hope will eventually find their way to Acorn TV.

Though their initial meeting is chaotic, they're strangely drawn to one another.
