With 2025 drawing to a close in just a few weeks, BritBox has announced their January schedule (though we'd be surprised if they didn't have at least one or two last minute changes/additions, being this far out). Shetland fans who've been jealously watching UK viewers enjoy the new season will be pleased to know it's going to be the very first premiere of the new year.

New Shows Coming to BritBox (US) in January 2026
January 1st Premieres
Shetland, Season 10
In the remote hamlet of Lunniswick, the body of an elderly retired social worker is found after lying exposed to the elements for several days, drawing Calder (Ashley Jensen) and Tosh (Alison O’Donnell) into a new investigation inspired by Ann Cleeves’ award-winning crime novels. As they unpick the victim’s past and probe the friends, neighbours and former clients who knew her, the pair strip away the village’s close-knit façade to expose buried secrets and disturbing acts at its core. Six hour-long episodes will be released at a rate of one episode per week.
January 8th Premieres
The Game, Season 1
Huw Miller (Jason Watkins, McDonald & Dodds) is a former detective whose career has been overshadowed by one unsolved case: a sadistic stalker who toyed with his victims and the wider town before killing them. Retirement offers little escape, and when new neighbour Patrick Harbottle (Robson Green, Grantchester) moves in and casually uses the stalker’s old sign-off, “catch you later,” Huw becomes convinced the man he failed to catch is now living next door. Four hour-long episodes will be released at a rate of one per week.
January 14th Premieres
Riot Women, Season 1
In Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, five women form an impromptu punk band to enter a local talent competition, only to realise that writing their first song gives them a way to voice frustrations about work, family, ageing parents, grown-up children and complicated relationships. What starts as a fun escape quickly upends their routines, with the band sparking unexpected changes in each of their lives. As they rehearse, perform and grow closer, a long-buried secret gradually emerges, drawing them into a tangled web of past and present that could unravel both their friendships and their new musical venture. Two hour-long episodes will be released upon premiere, followed by one episode weekly (six in total).
January 21st Premieres
Tracey Ullman's Show
Tracey Ullman (Black Doves) leads a character-driven sketch comedy series that tracks a mix of everyday Brits and high-profile figures, from office workers and families to politicians and celebrities. Each episode combines an ongoing narrative thread with standalone sketches and musical numbers, featuring recurring impressions such as Dame Judi Dench, Angela Merkel, Camilla, Nicola Sturgeon, Theresa May, Brigitte Macron and Melania Trump, alongside original characters. Across the seasons, the show uses sharp satire to look at post-Brexit politics, celebrity culture, technology and modern life, with guest appearances from Ben Miller (Death in Paradise), Nigel Havers (A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story), Samantha Spiro (Birgit) and others.
Three seasons will be released all at once.
January 27th Premieres
Hamish Macbeth
