After last month's really short lineup, Acorn TV is bringing us an October calendar with a few real gems (and a fair bit of true crime filler). Keep reading for the full schedule + descriptions.

Shows Continuing on Acorn TV in October 2026

Blue Murder Motel continues in October

Blue Murder Motel  (2026, New Zealand)

Retired Sydney detectives Vinny (Michala Banas, Upper Middle Bogan) and Cole (Brett Tucker, Station 19) move across the Tasman to begin a quieter life running a motel on the New Zealand coast. Their retirement does not last long, however, when a questionable death draws them back into investigative work and leads to further murder cases in their new community.

Episodes will continue in October as follows:

  • October 5th, Episode 7 “Radio Silence” – It's a stormy day up North when Vinny receives a visitor from the past that might spell trouble. And then the local radio station falls silent after some weird noises. Something is off.
  • October 12th, Episode 8 “A Cop & a Gentleman” (FINALE) – A summer market turns deadly when a local merchant dies in a freak accident. Vinny and Cole dig deeper and find out it was murder – and personal.

The Assassin continues in October

The Assassin (2025)

Keeley Hawes (Bodyguard, The Durrells) stars as Julie, a retired contract killer living quietly on a Greek island. Her estranged son Edward (Freddie Highmore, The Good Doctor) arrives hoping to learn more about his family and the identity of his father, but their reunion is interrupted when Julie’s past catches up with her. Forced to go on the run together, mother and son must work out who is pursuing them and why. The six-part thriller also stars Gina Gershon, Jack Davenport, Richard Dormer, Shalom Brune-Franklin, and Alan Dale.

Episodes continue as follows in October:

  • October 5th, Episode 6 (FINALE) – As a dramatic final showdown prepares to take place, shocking truths are revealed to Edward that make him
    question everything he thought he knew about his life.

October 1st Premieres

The Graham Norton Show, Season 34

This popular talk show returns with a new season that includes Florence Pugh, John Bishop, Emeli Sand, Lolly Adefope, Sylvester Stallone, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Cruise. New episodes air each Thursday.

October 5th Premieres

Signora Volpe returns for season 3 on October 5th

Signora Volpe, Season 3

Emilia Fox (Silent Witness) returns for a third season as former British spy Sylvia Fox, now well established in her new life in Italy (and fully recovered from the events of season 2 – we won't say more in case you're not caught up). Things are going well in her relationship with Carabinieri captain Giovanni Riva (Giovanni Cirfiera), and that means… it's time for something to screw it all up. In this case, we find her drawn back into danger through a series of investigations, including the murder of a winery owner and the mysterious death of a young man found in the bed of a prominent local couple. She'll also get a visit from someone in her past, further disrupting her otherwise peaceful existence.

Episodes will air as follows:

  • October 5th, Episode 1: After a winery owner confides that someone wants him dead, Sylvia discovers the man murdered in his vineyard. Riva and Barzini follow the evidence while Sylvia probes the Lazzarini family's secrets, drawing her dangerously close to the killer.
  • October 12th, Episode 2: A powerful couple finds a dead stranger in their bed, launching Sylvia into a puzzling murder case. As she uncovers a property scam and an illegal casino, an unexpected confession leaves Sylvia questioning who the real killer is.
  • October 19th, Episode 3 (FINALE): A friend's brutal murder sends Sylvia searching for answers, but the arrival of her wounded ex-husband (Jamie
    Bamber, Law and Order: UK) puts her loyalties to the test. While tensions with Riva reach a breaking point, Sylvia closes in on the killers and faces an agonizing choice.

When Rachel Nickell is brutally murdered in Wimbledon Common in front of her young son, police begin a manhunt. When they think they've found their man, the case suddenly collapses – he's not the killer – and now, they're even further away from the truth, and putting a dangerous man behind bars. Two episode binge premiere.

October 12th Premieres

This is Not a Murder Mystery (2025, English-language Belgian series)

Set in 1936, this Belgian mystery imagines a young René Magritte (Pierre Gervais) visiting an English country estate for an exhibition alongside fellow Surrealists including Salvador Dalí, Man Ray, and Lee Miller. When Magritte wakes beside the body of a murdered artist with no memory of the previous night, he becomes a prime suspect and must uncover the killer before Scotland Yard closes in.

Episodes will premiere as follows:

  • October 12th – Episode 1, “The Lovers” – England, 1936. Young surrealist artists, including René Magritte and Salvador Dalí, gather at the grand West Dean estate for a private exhibition. When a shocking murder occurs, Scotland Yard is called in and the estate is locked down.
  • October 19th – Episode 2, “The Glass Gun” – A new incident shakes West Dean. As the surrealist artists begin to suspect one another, Scotland Yard's investigation starts to focus on a single guest. Paranoia spreads, secrets unravel, and new facts about Sheila's past come to light.
  • October 26th – Episode 3, “The Lobster Telephone” – The guests hold a beautiful farewell, while Scotland Yard discovers who will receive a surprising inheritance. Magritte starts his own search for the truth, and new suspects begin to emerge on the estate.

The Flight Attendant Murders premieres October 12th

The Flight Attendant Murders (2023) 

This four-part documentary series revisits the murders of four flight attendants in Texas during the 1970s and 1980s, all of whom worked for the same airline and died in cases with troubling similarities. Jonathan Reed was convicted of the first murder, but three more women were killed while he was in prison, raising questions about whether the cases were connected and whether the right man was convicted. Using family testimony, a fresh look at the original evidence, and modern DNA techniques, the series examines what may have been missed and whether the victims’ families can finally get clearer answers. Four episode binge premiere.

October 19th Premieres

The Red King premieres October 19th

The Red King (2024)

Anjli Mohindra (Vigil) stars as Grace Narayan, a police sergeant sent to the remote Welsh island of St Jory after a professional mistake. When she begins investigating the disappearance of a local teenager, she finds herself up against a close-knit community with its own traditions, secrets, and resistance to outside scrutiny. Mark Lewis Jones (Keeping Faith) and Marc Warren (Van der Valk) are among the supporting cast.

Unusually for a series that's already a couple years old, this one will be airing weekly on the following schedule:

  • October 19th, Episode 1 – After blowing the whistle on a colleague, Detective Grace Narayan is sent to a small Welsh Island, she encounters
    local GP Doctor Pridaux, who explains that his son Cai vanished a year ago, the investigation proved fruitless.
  • October 26th, Episode 2 – An identification is made of the body, Grace is keen to prove it was murder, but a Murder Investigation team arrive
    from the mainland and take over proceedings.

Wrongly Accused (2023 docuseries)

Investigative reporter Louise Shorter revisits some of Britain’s most significant miscarriages of justice, examining the evidence, legal failures, and investigative mistakes that led to wrongful convictions. With help from lawyers, journalists, and other experts, the series also looks at how the cases were eventually overturned and what they reveal about weaknesses in the justice system. Ten episode binge premiere.

October 26th Premieres

Wolf premieres October 26th

Wolf (2023)

Ukweli Roach (The Midwich Cuckoos, Humans) stars as DI Jack Caffery, a detective still haunted by the disappearance of his brother and convinced that a neighbour was responsible. His latest case takes him into a wealthy Monmouthshire family targeted by a sadistic criminal, with Juliet Stevenson (Emma), Owen Teale (Game of Thrones), Sian Reese-Williams (Hidden), Iwan Rheon (Misfits), and Sacha Dhawan (The Great) among the cast. Six episode binge premiere.

The Hunt for the Chameleon Killer

The Hunt for the Chameleon Killer (2024)

This docuseries follows the 12-year international hunt for a woman accused of identity theft and murder after the headless, handless body of her victim was found in a Florida canal. Dubbed the “Chameleon Killer” for her use of multiple identities, she became one of the world’s most wanted fugitives as investigators traced her movements across several countries. Three episode binge premiere.
