Adult Material (2020) – Not returning. Was intended to be a limited series.
Angela Black (2021) – Not returning. Joanne Froggatt has stated, “No, this is a one and only six part series.”
After Life – Not returning. The series finished after season 3 as planned.
After the Flood (2024) – The official announcement has been made and it WILL be returning for season 2, with filming due to commence in early 2025.
Agatha Raisin (2014) – Neither confirmed nor cancelled, but with no word on more since early 2022, it doesn't look great.
Alex Rider (2020) – Though based on the young adult novels by Anthony Horowitz (Foyle's War), this series was appealing to a great many adults as well. Though the third season offered some closure and cast members have made statements implying it would be the last installment, Anthony Horowitz himself has stated that he wasn't sure about whether it was over, or whether it might be picked up by another streaming network.
Alice & Jack (2024) – Limited series, not returning.
All Creatures Great & Small (2020) – Received a double renewal for seasons 5 and 6 + Christmas specials. Season 5 arrived in the UK on 19 September 2024, and it will premiere in the US on January 12th, 2025.
Alma's Not Normal (2020) – A second season premiered on BBC Two on 7 October 2024. Creator and star Sophie Willan has said there won't be a season 3, but that she'd love to tie it up with a Christmas special – which she's currently working on. We have no other details about the special as of late October 2024. No word on US streaming options.
Am I Being Unreasonable? (2022) – Season 2 is said to be in production as of spring 2024. The new season will premiere in 2025, date TBA.
Anansi Boys (2024) – Expected on Amazon Prime at some point, but the writer's strike caused delays. No word on whether recent allegations will impact the release.
Anne (2022) – Not returning. Was intended to be a limited series.
Anne Boleyn (2021) – Not returning. Was intended to be a limited series.
Annika (2021) – No word yet on season 3 (though the radio version has 6 series, and you can check those out HERE).
Apples Never Fall (2024) – Limited series based on Liane Moriarty's novel of the same name. Not expected to have a second season (because it's a limited series).
Archie (2023) – Limited series, not returning.
Around the World in 80 Days (2021) – There were rumours of a second season, but we've not seen any additional news on this in a couple years now.
Austin (2024) – A second season of this Australian-British comedy was announced in November 2024. No dates yet.
Avoidance (2022) – Cancelled after 2 seasons.
The Baby (2022) – Not returning. Was created as a limited series.
Baby Reindeer (2024) – Limited series, not expected to return.
Back (2017) – There have been no official updates since the second season aired in 2021. It's not looking good for season 3, but you never know. Between COVID and Webb's heart surgery, there were legitimate delays that had nothing to do with the quality or reception of the series. In October 2024, it was announced that HBO is developing a remake of the series. It hasn't been officially greenlit as of the last update we saw in October, but the original writer, Simon Blackwell, was working on the adaptation for HBO.
Baghdad Central (2020) – Though there was talk of a season 2 after the initial premiere, we haven't seen updates since then. The series was based on the novel by Elliott Colla, and it doesn't appear to have a US streaming home as of August 2024.
The Barking Murders (aka Four Lives) (2022) – Miniseries, not expected to return.
The Bay (2019) – Season 5 premieres on BritBox September 18th, 2024. No word on season 6 as of late November 2024.
Becoming Elizabeth (2022) – Cancelled after one season.
Before We Die (2021) – As of late August 2024, we haven't seen any credible updates about season 3.
Behind Her Eyes (2021) – Limited series, not returning.
Belgravia (2020) – Though a second series wasn't commissioned, they did create Belgravia: The Next Chapter, which picks up decades later. As of late August 2024, we haven't seen any credible evidence that it's been renewed for a third season – but we also haven't seen anything about a cancellation.
Best Interests (2023) – The Daily Mail reported in 2023 that the series would return for another season, but we haven't seen any other updates. No US streaming details as of August 2024.
Better (2023) – Cancelled after one season.
Beyond Paradise (2023) – BritBox just announced season 3 filming has begun – too soon for a premiere date. A Christmas special comes to BritBox on the 25th of December (2024).
Big Boys (2022) – Renewed for season 3 in June 2024. No word on a premiere date or US streaming options as of August 2024.
Big Mood (2024) – In July 2024, writer Camilla Whitehill mentioned in a podcast that she was writing series 2 despite the fact that it hadn't been fully greenlit. We haven't seen any other updates.
Black Doves (2024) – Expected December 5th on Netflix. Netflix announced its season 2 renewal at the Edinburgh TV Festival in August 2024. Too soon for season 2 dates.
Black Mirror (2016) – Netflix is actively working on season 7 as of autumn 2024. It's expected to premiere in 2025, but we don't have an official date yet.
Black Narcissus (2020) – Limited series, not returning.
Black Ops (2023) – No word on US premiere. A second series has been commissioned as of August 2023.
Bloodlands (2021) – Cancelled after season 2.
Bloods (2021) – Though they initially said it was renewed for season 3 in October 2022, the decision was reversed soon after.
Blue Lights (2023) – Series 3 and 4 have been commissioned. No word on premiere dates yet.
Boat Story (2023) – Intended to be a limited series, so a season 2 is not expected.
Bodies (2023) – Limited series, not expected to return.
Boiling Point (2023) – This sequel to the 2021 film Boiling Point was designed as a miniseries and is not expected to return.
Brassic – Season 6 began in the UK in September 2024, and season 7 has been confirmed with pre-production beginning in autumn 2024 . Only seasons 1-5 are available in the US.
Breeders (2020) – The fourth and final season aired in July 2023. There will not be a season 5.
Bridgerton (2020) – Season 4 began filming in September 2024.
The Buccaneers (2023) – Apple TV+ renewed the series almost immediately after the first season, and season 2 went into production during 2024. Based on that, we would expect to see season 2 sometime in late 2024 or early 2025 – though as of late November 2024, no official premiere date has been named.
Buffering (2021) – The series was cancelled after season 2. No word on US availability as of September 2024.
The Burning Girls (2023) – Based on CJ Tudor's novel of the same name, we haven't seen a renewal or cancellation as of September 2024 (though many non-series book adaptations are limited to a single series, so it's possible we'll never hear anything).
Call the Midwife – Season 14 is currently filming (expected to air in March 2025 on PBS). It has been renewed through at least season 15.
The Castaways (2023) – Based on Lucy Clarke's novel of the same name, it's unknown as of October 2024 whether this will return.
The Catch (2023) – Based on TM Logan's novel of the same name, this is believed to be a limited series with no plans for a second season.
CB Strike (aka Strike) – UK premiere date for The Ink Black Heart is December 16th, no US date yet. No confirmation on filming of The Running Grave.
The Change (2023) – The series will return for a second season, with Mackenzie Crook (Detectorists) set to direct.
Changing Ends (2023) – Season 2 aired on ITV during summer 2024, but as of early September 2024, we've yet to see a season 2 premiere date for the US or any information about a third season.
Cheaters (2022) – In April 2024, the BBC announced the show would return for a second series on BBC One and iPlayer.
Chelsea Detective (2022) – A season 3 Christmas special airs December 16th in the US. The rest of season 3 will arrive in 2025.
The Chemistry of Death (2023) – This British-German production is based on Simon Beckett's novel of the same name. It's part of a series, so there's plenty of source material for more episodes – but we've yet to hear of a renewal as of late October 2024. It doesn't appear to be available in the US.
Chivalry (2022) – Channel 4 cancelled the series after a single season, but Steve Coogan and Sarah Solemani have been developing it. If another network is willing to take it on, it could see more episodes – but we don't recommend holding your breath.
Chloe (2022) – This limited series is not expected to return.
Clarkson's Farm (2021) – In November 2023, this docu-series was renewed for a fourth season. No word yet on premiere dates.
The Cleaner (2021) – Season 3 premiered October 4th in the UK. No word on a US date yet.
Close to Me (2021) – Based on Amanda Reynolds's novel of the same name, this limited series is not expected to return.
Cobra (2020) – No word yet on season 4 despite the season 3 cliffhanger.
Code 404 (2020) – The series was cancelled after season 3.
The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin (2024) – Apple TV+ announced in July 2024 that they had ordered a second season. It's too soon for precise dates, but it's expected to premiere in 2025.
The Confessions of Frannie Langton (2022) – Based on Sara Collins's book of the same name, this limited series is not expected to return.
The Control Room (2022) – This limited series is not expected to return.
Conversations with Friends (2022) – Based on Sally Rooney's novel of the same name, this limited series is not expected to return.
Conviction: The Case of Stephen Lawrence (2021) (aka Stephen) – Limited series, not returning.
Count Abdulla (2023) – Cancelled after one season. No word on US streaming options.
The Couple Next Door (2023) – We've yet to see an announcement on a second season, and while the ending offered closure, it did seem to leave room for a second season. Not streaming in the US as of August 2024.
Crime (2021) – Irvine Welsh has spoken about intentions for a third season, but we haven't seen any official updates or casting announcements. In August 2024, he mentioned that the third series has been held up by financial concerns at ITV after a downturn in advertising – so it's possible it might not happen.
Criminal Record (2024) – Apple TV+ announced a second season in late August 2024, but it's too soon for a premiere date.
Crossfire (2022) – This thriller is believed to be a limited series. While some have been modified and continued for additional seasons, the mixed reviews and lack of further news lead us to believe this one is probably done.
The Crown – Netflix has stated the series will not be returning for a seventh season.
Culprits (2023) – This Disney+/Hulu series was developed as a limited series, so a return is unlikely.
Cunk on Earth (2022) – No word on a season 2 as of August 2024, but a new special, Cunk on Life, is coming at some point.
The Curse (2022) – Star Tom Davis has said they plan to do three seasons, but we haven't seen an official confirmation or any casting notices for season 3.
Dalgliesh (2021) – Season 3 filmed summer 2024, adapts three novels: Death in Holy Orders, Cover Her Face, and Devices & Desires. No premiere date yet.
Darby & Joan (AU) (2022) – Season 2 premieres December 30th.
Deadline (2022) – Not returning. Miniseries.
Deadloch (2023) – Australian – Season 2 in production as of mid-2024. No word on a premiere date yet.
Deadwater Fell (2020) – Not returning. Miniseries.
Death in Paradise (2011) – A Christmas special is coming to BritBox in December, exact date not yet announced. The rest of the new season will follow in 2025.
Deceit (2021) – Not returning. Miniseries.
The Devil's Hour (2022) – It has been renewed for a third season (but no dates yet).
Dinosaur (2024) – Renewed for season 2, no dates yet as of late November 2024.
The Diplomat (2023) – Production is underway on season 3. No premiere date yet.
DI Ray (2022) – No word yet on season 3.
Doctor Who – Season 15 is definitely happening (exact date unknown), and Russell T Davies has stated he's working on another season of new episodes for a third Ncuti Gatwa-led season because he's confident it will happen. Gatwa posted about season 16 filming beginning in 2025, but a BBC spokesperson indicated Gatwa had spoken out of turn, and that no official decision would be made until after the new season airs.
Dodger (2022) – After season 1, this Oliver Twist prequel had an additional four specials through 2023. As of September 2024, we haven't heard news of any additional seasons or specials, but it's far too soon to rule it out without seeing an official announcement. Not currently streaming in the US.
The Doll Factory (2023) – Based on Elizabeth Mcneal's novel of the same name, this limited series is not expected to return.
Domina (2021) – This British-Italian historical drama was cancelled after season 2.
Dreamland (2023) – As of early September 2024, we haven't heard any news of a season 2 renewal or a US premiere date/outlet.
The Drowning (2021) – Though designed as a limited series, star Jill Halfpenny has suggested she'd be keen to return for another season to explore what lies ahead for her character (in a turn similar to The Missing and Baptiste).
The Duchess (2020) – Cancelled after season 1.
The English (2022) – Created as a limited series, unlikely to return. No official announcement as of early September 2024.
The English Game (2020) – Limited series, not returning.
The Essex Serpent (2022) – Miniseries, not returning.
Everyone Else Burns (2023) – Season 2 premiered in October in the UK, no word on US date.
Everything I Know About Love (2022) – Based on Dolly Alderton's memoir, Alderton has expressed interest in a second series – but as of late November 2024, we haven't seen any official updates or signs of renewal.
Everything Now (2023) – Cancelled after season 1.
Extraordinary (2023) – Season 3 is expected in February 2025.
The Ex-Wife (2022) – Based on Jess Ryder's novel of the same name, this is one of those rare thriller miniseries that end up getting a second season. as of summer 2024, filming had begun in Cyprus – but as of early September 2024, we've yet to see premiere details.
The Famous Five (2023) – Based on the Enid Blyton novels, casting sites are reporting (as of October 2024) that a new season begins filming this month in Bristol.
Father Brown (2013) – In April 2024, it was confirmed that seasons 12 and 13 had been commissioned. No word on when they will premiere, but based on past patterns, we would expect to see season 12 in January 2025 and season 13 in January 2026. The series is based on GK Chesterton's Father Brown short stories.
Feel Good (2020) – Season 2 was the final season.
Fifteen Love (2023) – As of early September 2024, we haven't seen any news of renewal or cancellation.
Finding Alice (2021) – ITV confirmed in 2021 that there would be a second season and it was due to film in February 2022, but it was later announced that the plans had been scrapped. Some sources suggest this was due to issues with cast availability.
Flack (2019) – Though Amazon rescued this series from cancellation and left some possible plot threads for a third season, we haven't seen any updates in a few years – so it's not looking good for a season 3 (as of November 2024).
Flesh & Blood (2020) – Though the show left plot strands that would have made a second season relatively easy, we've never been able to find any official renewal or cancellation announcement. Four years on, it looks pretty unlikely.
Four Lives (aka The Barking Murders) (2022) – Miniseries, not expected to return.
Frank of Ireland (2021) – As of September 2024, we haven't seen any updates on the status of this series – though after 3 years with no updates, it doesn't look good.
The Full Monty (2023) – Disney+ has still not commented publicly about a second season as of November 2024, but since three major characters would be unable or unlikely to return, it would be a very different series.
Funny Woman (2023) – Season 2 premiered in the UK on 6 September 2024. It will return to PBS on February 2, 2025.
The Gallows Pole (2023) – Written as a prequel to Benjamin Myers's novel of the same name, we haven't seen any updates about a US premiere date or possible season 2.
Gangs of London (2020) – Season 3 will premiere on Sky (UK) and AMC+ (US) in 2025.
Gavin & Stacey (2007) – Those involved have said the 2025 Christmas special will be the final installment in the series.
A Gentleman in Moscow (2024) – Limited series, not returning. Based on Amor Towles's 2016 novel of the same name.
The Gentlemen (2024) – Renewed in August 2024 for a second season. Still too soon for premiere dates.
Get Even (2020) – There's no second season, but there is a spin-off called Rebel Cheer Squad.
The Girl Before (2021) – Designed to be a miniseries, not returning.
A Good Girl's Guide to Murder (2024) – Renewed for season 2, too soon for a premiere date.
Good Omens (2019) – After the Neil Gaiman sexual misconduct allegations, the show's future was unclear – but they've announced the series will conclude with a long final episode. No dates yet.
Good Ship Murder (2023) – Channel 5 in the UK has announced there will be a season 2 AND 3, along with a Christmas special. No word on dates as of September 2024.
Grace (2021) – Series 5 began filming in spring 2024. It's expected to air in 2025, but no date has been announced as of late October 2024.
Granite Harbour (2022) – Season 2 returned to BritBox August 15th, no yet word on season 3.
Grantchester – Season 9 premiered in summer 2024 on PBS, and work on season 10 has begun.
Great Expectations (2023) – Designed as a miniseries, not returning.
