UKTV has confirmed a second season of the re-imagined Bergerac, with filming now underway on Jersey (also home to the musician Gilbert O'Sullivan). Damien Molony (Being Human, Crashing) returns as Jim Bergerac.
What Is Bergerac About?
The modern take keeps the iconic island setting while updating the format. Instead of a new case every episode, one character-led murder mystery unfolds across the season. Jim Bergerac balances personal life with complex investigations, with support and complications from his formidable mother-in-law Charlie Hungerford (Zoë Wanamaker, Mr Selfridge, My Family) and the Jersey police team.
What’s New in Season 2
Jim begins to put his life back together and, with encouragement from his daughter Kim (Chloé Sweetlove), starts dating. He meets Nicola (Camilla Beeput, The Tower, Hijack) and they connect, but a murder at a Jersey wedding pulls him into a new case. The groom is found dead in his hotel room, and the victim’s cryptic final words become the key to a web of old secrets. The mystery plays out over six hour-long episodes.
Who's Joining the Cast?
Adrian Edmondson (Rain Dogs, A Spy Among Friends) plays Nigel, a new love interest for Charlie, and Lesley Sharp (Red Eye, Before We Die) appears as Monica. New faces also include Turlough Convery (Sanditon, Killing Eve) as Michael, Jonathan Aris (Red Eye, His Dark Materials) as Richard Gibbon, Charles Dale (Casualty, Sherwood) as Ian, Georgina Rich (Heartstopper, Industry) as Ruth, and Denzel Baidoo (Restless, Suspicion) as Andy.
Who’s Back
Returning cast members include Zoë Wanamaker as Charlie Hungerford, Robert Gilbert (Endeavour) as Barney Crozier, Chloé Sweetlove as Kim Bergerac, Sasha Behar (Strike Back) as Uma Dalal, Celine Arden as Kara Molloy, and Luke Nunn as Simon Calvert.
When and Where to Watch
Season 2 will premiere in the UK on U and U&DRAMA in 2026. Sadly, there's still no U.S. premiere information. It's nice to know we'll have at least two seasons to enjoy SOMEDAY, but it sure would be nice to have some idea on when and where.
Classic Bergerac and a Bonus Read
The original 1980s–90s Bergerac starring John Nettles is available to stream HERE in the US. For behind-the-scenes anecdotes from Nettles, look for his memoir Nudity in a Public Place: Confessions of a Mini Celebrity (but we have to take issue with that title – in the British TV world, he's a mega celebrity).
