Acorn TV Announces ‘An Autumn to Die For’ Celebration of Mystery

In celebration of the late Dame Agatha Christie's birthday and National Cozy Mystery Day, Acorn TV is kicking off ‘An Autumn to Die For', an autumn celebration of mystery. Many are coming over from their other service, AMC+, so you may not be too excited if you subscribe to both – but otherwise, it's not a bad lineup of new additions.

Below, we take a look at what's on offer in the weeks to come – from brand new seasons to returning favorites. Keep in mind that this is not the full schedule for October/November – it's just an overview of what's included in this particular programming event.

Brand New Shows Coming to Acorn TV

The Crow Girl premieres September 8th

The Crow Girl (2025)

The murders of several young men bring together DCI Jeanette Kilburn, played by Eve Myles (Hijack, Torchwood), and psychotherapist Dr. Sophia Craven, portrayed by Katherine Kelly (The Long Shadow, Protection). Their partnership draws them into a dangerous investigation that uncovers historic abuse and long-concealed violence. Dougray Scott (Vigil, Desperate Housewives) also appears.

Premieres September 8th, with new episodes weekly on Mondays through October 13th. Watch it HERE

Murder Before Evensong premieres September 29th

Murder Before Evensong (2025)

Canon Daniel Clement, a quiet village rector played by Matthew Lewis (Harry Potter films, Me Before You), becomes involved in a murder investigation after a local man is found stabbed with a pair of gardening secateurs. When his outspoken mother Audrey arrives unexpectedly, long-buried family tensions resurface just as a deeper crisis unfolds. The victim, a cousin of the church’s patron, forces Daniel to confront secrets hidden beneath the surface of village life. As media attention grows and pressure mounts from his bishop, Daniel begins to wonder who he can trust—and whether he was the real target. Based on the novel Murder Before Evensong by Reverend Richard Coles.

Premieres September 29th, with new episodes airing weekly for 6 weeks.

The Light in the Hall returns October 23rd

The Light in the Hall, Season 2

A proposed expansion of a nearby reservoir stirs up long-buried tensions in a tight-knit community, attracting the attention of journalist Caryl (Siân Reese-Williams, Hidden). As she investigates, questions resurface about the 1995 protests and whether Rhys Owen (Mark Lewis-Jones, Keeping Faith) was wrongly imprisoned for the murder of his cousin. Old wounds reopen as buried secrets and doubts come to light. The cast also includes Nia Roberts, Robert Glenister, and others.

The Gone returns November 3rd

The Gone, Season 2

When Irish journalist Aileen Ryan disappears in Mount Affinity, Theo decides to remain in the town to lead the search. As he and Diana investigate, they uncover clues that suggest Aileen may have been closing in on the truth behind the long-unsolved Mountain Murders. The second season builds on the mystery with new revelations tied to the town's dark past. Richard Flood, Acushla-Tara Kupe, and Michelle Fairley return to the cast.

Black Snow returns November 3rd

Black Snow, Season 2

Detective Cormack (Travis Fimmel) returns to face two haunting mysteries—one professional and one deeply personal. As he investigates the 2003 disappearance of Zoe Jacobs (Jana McKinnon), who vanished during her own 21st birthday party, he’s also forced to confront the unresolved trauma of his younger brother’s disappearance years earlier. The second season weaves together both cases as Cormack digs deeper into the past in search of long-buried truths.

Scrublands returns November 10th

Scrublands, Season 2

Set in coastal Australia, the second season follows investigative journalist Martin Scarsden as he returns to his hometown of Port Silver with his partner, Mandy Bond. Their arrival takes a dark turn when Martin’s childhood friend, Jasper Speight, is found brutally murdered—and Mandy is named the prime suspect. As Martin works to uncover the truth and clear her name, he’s drawn into a complex case that forces him to confront secrets from both the town’s past and his own. The cast includes Luke Arnold, Bella Heathcote, Luke Carroll, Debra Lawrance, and David Roberts.

Harry Wild returns for a two-part special on November 24th

It's not a full season, but this Ireland-based cozy mystery will return on November 24th for a two-part special. 

  • Part One: After an apparent poisoning occurs at Vicky and Cormac's wedding, Harry springs into action, alongside the FBI. But when the assassin’s target flees, Harry and Fergus find themselves in the crosshairs of their most dangerous adversary yet.

  • Part Two: As the wedding descends into chaos, the assassin strikes. Harry, Fergus, and Orla race against time to uncover clues, while Glenn and Concepta hatch a cunning plan in Dublin. The final pieces of the case start to come together.

Agatha Christie Adaptations Coming to Acorn TV This Autumn

 

Agatha Christie's Poirot returns to Acorn TV on September 15th

Agatha Christie's Poirot

Belgian detective Hercule Poirot, played by Sir David Suchet, applies his trademark precision and psychological insight to solve complex crimes across England and beyond. Set largely between the 1910s and 1940s, the series brings Agatha Christie’s classic mysteries to life with detailed period settings, intricate plots, and an emphasis on Poirot’s “little grey cells.” Suchet’s meticulous portrayal captures both the detective’s fastidious habits and his sharp intellect, making him a constant presence in drawing rooms, country estates, and bustling cities where murder disrupts the surface of polite society. Each story presents a puzzle of lies, motives, and secrets that only Poirot’s keen observations can untangle.

Seasons will premiere as follows:

Agatha Christie's Marple returns to Acorn TV September 22nd

Agatha Christie's Marple

Miss Jane Marple is an elderly amateur detective whose sharp eye for detail draws her into murder cases in villages and country estates across England. Though she appears to be a quiet spinster, she repeatedly proves more capable than the police in uncovering the truth behind complex crimes. Geraldine McEwan first took on the role in the series, followed by Julia McKenzie, with both leading adaptations of Agatha Christie’s classic stories set against mid-20th-century backdrops. Each episode presents a self-contained mystery. All six seasons premiere at once.

Agatha Christie's Tommy & Tuppence (1983 to 1984)

This classic mystery series follows married couple Tommy and Tuppence Beresford as they solve a string of short-form whodunits. Mixing charm, wit, and suspense, the duo brings a lighter, adventurous tone to Christie’s world of crime-solving. James Warwick and Francesca Annis star as the amateur sleuths.

Being Human UK (2008 to 2013)

In this BAFTA-nominated supernatural drama, a vampire, a werewolf, and a ghost attempt to live quietly among humans while battling their darker instincts. As they try to maintain friendships, jobs, and relationships, threats from both supernatural forces and human adversaries constantly push them to the edge. The cast includes Aidan Turner, Lenora Crichlow, and series creator Toby Whithouse.

Justice: Those Who Kill

Justice: Those Who Kill (2019, Danish)

Set in Copenhagen, this Nordic noir crime drama follows profiler Louise Bergstein as she investigates the execution-style murder of a young gang member. As the case unfolds, she’s pulled into a violent underworld where loyalty and revenge drive the killings. Natalie Madueño stars alongside Simon Sears, Tobias Santelmann, and Helle Fagralid.

Blithe Spirit

Blithe Spirit (2020)

Mary Shelley

Mary Shelley (2017) 

Elle Fanning portrays Mary Wollstonecraft Godwin, a young woman who defies her family by falling in love with poet Percy Bysshe Shelley. When the pair elope—joined by Mary’s impulsive half-sister Claire (Bel Powley)—their journey leads them to Lord Byron’s estate in Geneva. There, a ghost story challenge inspires Mary to begin writing Frankenstein, changing literary history forever.

Byzantium (2012)

Gemma Arterton and Saoirse Ronan star as Clara and Eleanor, a mother-daughter pair of vampires who flee a secretive brotherhood and take refuge in a run-down seaside town in Britain. As they attempt to conceal their identities and start over, their presence disrupts the community and draws dangerous attention. The film blends gothic atmosphere with a modern twist on vampire lore, with supporting performances by Sam Riley, Jonny Lee Miller, and Caleb Landry Jones.
