Cast & Creatives

MobLand will return for season 2

Season 2 casting is under wraps for now, but hopefully we'll hear more as production gets underway. Season 1 was led by Tom Hardy (Mad Max: Fury Road, Taboo), Pierce Brosnan (GoldenEye, Thursday Murder Club), and Dame Helen Mirren (The Queen, Thursday Murder Club), with a deep ensemble that included Paddy Considine (House of the Dragon), Joanne Froggatt (Downton Abbey), Lara Pulver (Sherlock), and Jasmine Jobson (Top Boy).

Behind the scenes, Guy Ritchie serves as executive producer.

Where we Left Off (Spoilers)

MobLand

Spoiler warning: Plot details from the Season 1 finale follow.

The finale redrew the map on every front. O’Hara Delaney (Lisa Dwan) was unmasked as the mole feeding intel across the aisle, and Harry (Tom Hardy) responded by ambushing Richie Stevenson (Geoff Bell) at The Sinful Monkey, killing Richie, O’Hara, and several Stevenson crew. At the same time, a separate Stevenson hit team hit the Harrigan safehouse; Harry had anticipated the move and positioned Zosia and Kiko with enforcers to repel it, but Kiko was killed in the firefight.

Inside the family, fault lines blew open. Conrad (Pierce Brosnan) and Maeve (Helen Mirren) were jailed on charges rooted in planted evidence, even as Maeve privately told Eddie (Anson Boon) that Conrad—not Kevin—is his father, shifting Eddie’s loyalties and giving Maeve a new ally. Back at home, Jan (Joanne Froggatt) asked Harry for a divorce; the argument ended with Jan “accidentally” stabbing him, forcing the Da Souzas to confront how far the war has followed them into their own kitchen.

Hovering over all of it is Kat McAllister (Janet McTeer). Harry turned down her offer to dismantle the Harrigans and then work under her banner, putting him—and by extension Jan and Gina—squarely in her sights. Season 2 now inherits a city without Richie, a Harrigan empire under legal siege, and a power vacuum that Kat, Maeve, and Harry all have reasons to try to fill.

Story specifics are under wraps, but season 2 is poised to pick up in the immediate aftermath of the bloodshed, with turf, succession, and survival in the balance. The fact that season 2 will be filming in and around London suggests we'll see continued focus on the city’s rival factions and the question that drives the series: who can keep power once they have it?

How to Watch in the U.S.

In the US, you can watch season 1 HERE on Paramount+. While it's too soon to have a date for season 2, it seems likely it will also premiere there.
