The Crow Girl, a six-part adaptation of Erik Axl Sund’s bestselling Nordic noir, airs exclusively on Acorn TV in the U.S. and Canada this autumn. Created, written and executive produced by Milly Thomas (River City, Clique), the series pairs DCI Jeanette Kilburn (Eve Myles, Hijack, Torchwood) with eminent psychotherapist Dr. Sophia Craven (Katherine Kelly, The Long Shadow, Protection) on a case that exposes historic abuse and a pattern of murders targeting young men. Dougray Scott (Fear the Walking Dead) co-stars as DI Lou Stanley.

What’s The Crow Girl About?

Eve Myles & Dougray Scott in The Crow Girl

Set in contemporary England, the investigation begins with a single homicide and quickly widens as Jeanette Kilburn’s team links new evidence to a possible repeat offender. Seeking behavioral insight, Jeanette turns to Dr. Sophia Craven, whose professional past intersects with the inquiry in unexpected ways. As bodies surface and pressure mounts, the case draws both women toward Victoria (Clara Rugaard, Black Mirror), an elusive figure whose history may hold the key to motive and method. The tone is procedural and psychological in equal measure: crime-scene work, interview strategies, and forensic detail sit alongside therapy notes, memory gaps and the long reach of trauma. The questions that drive the season are simple to ask and hard to answer—who is being manipulated, who is in danger next, and how far back does the violence go?
