Ahead of its autumn 2025 premiere, the BBC and BritBox have released the official trailer for Riot Women, the highly anticipated new series from multi-BAFTA-winning writer Sally Wainwright (Happy Valley, Last Tango in Halifax, Gentleman Jack).
A Punk Band Like No Other
Set in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, the feel-good drama follows five menopausal women from different walks of life who come together to form a punk band and enter a local talent contest. As they begin to write songs, they discover they have far more to say than they ever expected. Through music, they channel their frustrations and unspoken truths, transforming their lives in ways they never imagined. Along the way, long-buried secrets begin to surface, putting friendships and family ties to the test.
As the group of women juggles grown children, aging parents, exes, demanding jobs, and complicated relationships, the band becomes a catalyst for change in all their lives.
